1983 AHS Regional Service Award Winner
Edna Lankart

We in Region 6 were delighted about the recognition given to our own Edna Lankart as she was awarded the Regional Service Medal this year.

Through the years she has traveled, spoken, encouraged, and promoted our favorite flower. She has written probably more copy for the Newsletters and Daylily Journals than nearly any other individual. In fact, neither publication seems to be quite intact without a sample of her keen wit and knowledge.

She served as Region 6 as 1961-64 RPD and 1964-66 RVP. For six years she was on the AHS National Board where she was First Vice-President, in charge of the RVPs.

Being a photographer of note, she has won the Schlumpf Award four times.

In 1976, Edna was awarded the Helen Field Fischer Award for outstanding service.

She is a life member of AHS, an Exhibition Judge, and an Awards and Honors Judge, and has conducted many Clinics on both Regional and National levels.

Miles traveled, time spent, hours shared with daylily friends coast to coast, lengthy telephone conversations, laughter, fun, wit, and enthusiasm - these epitomize Edna Lankart and justify for her another honor so deservedly bestowed upon her.
